Abstract

Given the importance of emotional intelligence in mental health, the purpose of this study is meta-analysis of the studies which were conducted on the relationship between emotional intelligence and mental health. Through meta-analysis method, this study integrates the results of various studies and then determines the effect size of the relationship between emotional intelligence and mental health. To achieve this purpose, of 45 studies, 30 studies  accepted methodologically, were selected and meta-analysis was done on them. Research tool for the study was meta-analysis checklist The present study is based on 4858 participants and 32 effect sizes.The findings indicates that in general, the effect size of  emotional intelligence and mental health is 0/48. Furthermore, When emotional intelligence is evaluated as trait, it has stronger correlation with mental health(r=0/51) rather than when it is evaluated as ability(r=0/38).Therefore,according to the present study, it can be concluded that higher  emotional intelligence has correlation with better mental health.

Abstract

Purpose of the present study was to compare the hypochondria and the mental health of the mothers of children with the special needs and the mothers of normal children in Isfahan. It was a descriptive causative-comparison study and by using convenience sampling method, 90 mothers of disabled children (30 children with Down syndrome, 30 with autism and 30 with cerebral palsy) from the rehabilitation centers in the north of Isfahan were selected as the experimental group and by multistage random sampling method, 30 mothers of normal children of primary schools in Isfahan were selected as the control group. Ahwaz Hypo-chondriasis Test and Goldberg's General Health Questionnaire were applied to assess the participants' status and the gathered data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA and Tukey test. Results revealed that, in general, there was a meaningful difference between the mothers of children with special needs and the mothers of normal children in terms of hypochondria and mental health. Moreover, paired comparisons indicated that there was a significant difference between the mothers of disabled and normal children in terms of the mental health. Furthermore, in comparison to the mothers of normal children, there was a significant difference between the mothers of children with cerebral palsy and autism in terms of hypochondria however, there was no significant difference between the mothers of children with Down syndrome and the mothers of normal children in this term. According to the findings of this research, stresses resulting from having disabled children could endanger the mothers' mental and physical health and the specialists should consider this issue when they deal with such families.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is determination effectiveness of training relationship enhancement on romantic insecurity mothers with Down syndrome child. This study Performed style Experimental pretest, posttest and follow test with control group. The study population consists of all the mothers who have Down syndrome child in eslamshahr that their children were studying in exceptional schools that city (school year 2012-2013). From mental retardation children Educational Centers in eslamshahr, all mothers of children with Down syndrome were identified (40 mothers) and were randomly assigned to in both control and experimental groups. Members of both groups (4) people removed who had frequent absences or did not attend in completing the questionnaire. Finally, the sample size reached 16 people For each of the groups and   were assessed by  romantic relationship scale In three steps pretest, posttest and follow test. Experimental group received Relatiosnship enhancement Program for 10 sessions. For data analysis, was used repeated measures design. Data results of the analysis showed relationship enhancement training was effective on the romantic insecurity mothers with down syndrome child and it Has been lead to improved Romantic insecurity mothers with down syndrome also this improvement was maintained Follow up. It is recommended with regard to the effectiveness of relationship enhancement program on romantic insecurity relationship mothers with down syndrome child be used this program for Improve relationships  parents with exceptional children.

Abstract

Emotional disturbance is a central attribute of pathology in various disorders, in particular OCD. Anger is one of the main emotions that has been neglected and these few findings have many contradictions and a lot of turmoil. Therefore, the present study was conducted to explore the lived experience of anger in these individuals. This research was qualitative research and was the kind of interperetative phenomenological analysis. Participants were 29 individuals with OCD who were selected by purposeful sampling and snowball sampling. Also Data collection was through semi-structured interviews, narrative interviews and imagery. In order to analyze, the data were used the principles of Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. The results of the study included 7 themes. Themes included control, disgust, revenge, helplessness, combating anger, disgust, discomfort and uncontrollability. The results indicate that the experience of anger in an OCD has a wide range that can indicate the heterogeneity of this disorder. Since the two main themes related to the experience of disgust, the findings reveal the key role of disgust in the disorder. The relationship between anger and disgust can also be looked at more precisely in this disorder. However, the association of each of the themes with some of the features of this disorder can lead to studies shifting to another according to the quality of emotional experience. That means exceptional and clear emotional experiences in each category can mean different pathologies, resulting in a different therapeutic approach to treatment of the disorder. In addition, the comparison of the meaning of anger and other major emotion with anxiety disorders and OCD can also be effective in identifying and delimiting this disorder.
