The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the effectiveness of emotion-oriented couple therapy on the marital dissatisfaction of women affected by infidelity. The present study is a semi-experimental type in which a pre-test-post-test design was conducted with a control group with measurement at baseline after intervention and 3 months follow-up. The number of 105 women affected by the infidelity of their husbands referred to the counseling centers and psychological service clinics of the welfare department of the 1st district of Tehran in the period from April to September 1402, taking into account the entry criteria, 30 of those willing to participate in the research were selected through random replacement in the following manner and were randomly assigned to the experimental group. The participants completed and measured the Marital Boredom Questionnaire in three stages. The mentioned treatment sessions were emotional-oriented couple therapy (8 sessions of 90 minutes) as a group. The results of this research showed that emotion-oriented couple therapy can be used as a psychological intervention in reducing the marital distress of women affected by infidelity.
