Silene علمی پژوهشی بنیادی S ساپونین¬ها متابولیت¬های ثانویه¬ای هستند که در بسیاری از گیاهان و برخی جانوران یافت می¬شوند. این ترکیبات گلیکوزیدهایی با وزن مولکولی بالا هستند که دارای گروه قندی متصل به آگلیکون تری¬ترپنی یا استروئیدی می¬باشند. بسیاری از ساپونین¬ها دارای خاصیت پاک¬کنندگی هستند و در آب کف پایدار ایجاد می¬کنند. جنسSilene L. با بیش از 700 گونه یکی از بزرگترین جنس¬های تیره میخکیان است که اغلب در نیمکره شمالی گسترش دارند. ترکیبات ساپونینی از متابولیت¬های ثانویه فراوان موجود در گیاهان این جنس هستند. در پژوهش حاضر، محتوای ساپونین کل در ریشه و بخش هوایی 3 گونه از جنس Silene ( S. ginodioca, S. spergulifoliaو S. swertiifolia) به صورت کمی و کیفی به روش¬های اسپکتروفتومتری و کروماتوگرافی لایه نازک مورد مطالعه قرار گرفت. در این بررسی 5 فرکشن مختلف از هر بخش گیاه به دست آمد، که فرکشن 1 در هر دو بخش و در هر سه گونه حاوی بالاترین مقدار ساپونین بود. از سوی دیگر، مقدار ساپونین استخراج شده از ریشه¬ها بالا بود. همچنین کروماتوگرافی عصاره¬ها بر روی صفحات TLC لکه¬های ساپونینی با مقادیر Rf مختلف را آشکار ساخت. Saponins are secondary metabolites that are found in many plants and some animals. These compounds are high molecular weight glycosides, consisting of a sugar moiety linked to a triterpene or steroid aglycone. Many saponins have detergency properties and give stable foam in water. The genus Silene L. with more than 700 species is one of the largest genera of the family Caryophyllaceae mainly distributed in north hemisphere. Saponins are one of important secondary metabolites in members of the genus. Quantitative and qualitative study of the saponins in the aerial parts and roots of three Silene species, namely S. ginodioca, S. spergulifolia and S. swertiifolia were carried out by spectrophotometry and TLC methods. In this study, 5 fractions were obtained from each plant part and in both parts of three species, fraction 1 contain the highest amounts of saponins. On the other hands, root extracts have a high amount of saponins.
