هدف از این پژوهش بررسی نقش منابع ورودی، موقعیت در بازار و توان خلاقیت در خلق مزیت رقابتی کسب‌وکارهای ورزشی (مجموعه‌های تفریحی-ورزشی آبی شهر تهران) بود. این پژوهش از نوع توصیفی پیمایشی  و از نظر هدف کاربردی بود. جامعه آماری این پژوهش شامل مدیران مجموعه‌های تفریحی- ورزشی آبی شهر تهران بود. برای جمع‌آوری اطلاعات مورد نیاز برای آزمون فرضیه­ها ابزار پرسشنامه بهره گرفته شد. 80 پرسشنامه به نسبت توزیع مجموعه‌های تفریحی-ورزشی آبی در پنج منطقه استان تهران، به صورت هدفمند در اختیار مدیران قرار گرفت که از این تعداد 75 پرسشنامه مورد تجزیه‌و‌تحلیل قرار گرفت. یافته ­ها نشان داده منابع ورودی به طور مستقیم بر مزیت رقابتی اثر مثبت و معنی‌داری دارد (53/0 β= ،06/20t=)، موقعیت در بازار نیز به طور مستقیم بر مزیت رقابتی اثر مثبت و معنی‌داری (42/0 β= ،23/2t=) دارد. همچنین توان خلاقیت به طور مستقیم بر مزیت رقابتی اثر مثبت و معنی‌داری (63/0  β= ،43/11t=).
نتایج این مطالعه هدفمند بودن رویکرد ترکیبی به‌واسطه توانایی به‌کارگیری درست منابع ورودی از جمله منابع انسانی، سازمانی و مالی، توجه به سرمایه مشتری و داشتن هوشمندی رقابتی به عنوان ایجادکننده ­ها و تثبیت‌‌کننده‌ موقعیت در بازار و همچنین سرمایه نوآوری، توان فناوری اطلاعات و مدیریت دانش به عنوان مهم‌ترین منابع و عناصر در استفاده از توان خلاقیت می‌توانند مزیت رقابتی را برای کسبوکارها به ارمغان آورند.
